Food Hygiene Training Courses

Before operating a food business, those handling food are required to be trained in food hygiene or supervised by someone trained in food hygiene.

We run the NVQ Level 2 Course ‘Food Safety in Catering’. This is a one day course that is designed to fulfill the requirements put upon food business operators. The course is a Chartered Institute of Environmental Health qualification, accredited by Ofqual.

We regularly hold food hygiene courses. 

• £65 per person
• full one- day course 
• 9am - 5pm

The courses take place at Southover House, Lewes with qualified assessors. A short exam will take place at the end of the day, marked by The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. If successful, your Certificate will then be issued and posted to your address.

The course

The course curriculum covers:

• Understanding of the importance of food safety. 
• Knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures used to ensure food is safe and good to eat, including the essential legal requirements.
• Understanding how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling).

It will provide delegates with the confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.

Notes:

A sandwich lunch is provided. We can accommodate some particular dietary needs, but we will need to be advised when you make your booking.

A small discount is available for registered charities and micro businesses within Lewes district (10 employees or less)
