Work Experience & Placements

We receive many requests for work experience placements each year. Placements for school students are arranged directly with the partner schools in our district. Unfortunately, we do not arrange individual placements.

Placements for college or university students or from other countries can sometimes be arranged. This depends upon the type of placement, duration, cost and the work demands at the time.

If you are interested in a placement, please enquire by telephone or email the Personnel Services Unit with the details.

We do not directly provide careers advice ourselves. However, there is a vast amount of information available from other Government organisations.

Jobcentre Plus

The Jobcentre Plus service is part of the Department for Work and Pensions and not part of the council. It is a service for people of working age who are looking for work or may be eligible for certain working age benefits.
