A guide to the classes of information we publish or intend to publish routinely.
In implementing the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we promote an understanding of the work undertaken to foster a spirit of trust with the public and other organisations.
We deal with individual requests for information courteously and promptly and provide advice and assistance where necessary.
We achieve this by promoting transparency in our decision-making and by providing clear information about our policies and processes. This is done through our publication scheme.
We are required to specify 'classes' of information to ensure the information is provided in a standard format regardless of where it comes from.
The Information Commissioner issued a Model Publication Scheme and from 1 January 2009 we adopted this way of working.
It contains seven classes of information:
Who we are and what we do
What we spend and how we spend it
What our priorities are and how we are doing
Corporate Policies and Strategies
Comprehensive Performance Assessment
How we make decisions
Committee Agendas, Reports and Minutes
Consultations, Petitions and Surveys
Lewes District Council's Constitution
Our policies and procedures
Lists and registers
The services we offer
Translation and Interpreting Services
By adopting this, we are committed to proactively publishing information, including environmental information.
We will provide a means by which we can ensure the public are aware of the sorts of the information we commit to make readily available, how it can be accessed and whether a cost is charged.
We will review and update the information on a regular basis.
For information concerning the scheme or request for other information can be made direct to our officers.
Reproducing material supplied under this Publication Scheme without the express permission of the Council may be an infringement of copyright.
Requests for permission should be addressed to the Head Of Legal & Democratic Services.
